We're BAAAAACK

We're back in the USA..... surrounded by political opinions and everyone bashing everyone else for their political opinions.  Ah.... 'Merica.

Anyway.  In case you can't tell, I'm not a fan of politics.  I keep myself very tuned-out from all that stuff because it just frustrates me beyond belief.  Nothing like going to another country and having people ask you things like, "So, no offense, but what the HELL is going on with your country??"  It seems as if we have Larry, Curly and Mo running for office.  Or the Muppets or whatever.  All I could say is, "I have no idea."

ANYWAY.  Enough about that.

Our trip was great and difficult.  Mara's sleeping got worse and worse as the days went on so by the end, Corky and I were both suffering.  It made for a very tense trip home.  Not to mention, of course there would be a horrible windstorm in the Pacific Northwest on the very day we fly home.  The weather was normal the whole rest of the week and then BAM.  30-35 mph winds with 45-50 mph gusts.

People were literally screaming as we landed in Seattle.

You know I love airplanes.  I love to fly.  But even I was nervous.

On the second flight from Seattle to Portland (a 35 minute up-and-down), the flight attendant went around handing out airsickness bags before take-off, in the expectation that it would be horrendously bumpy.  That was a first for me!

God bless the Q400 though... sturdy little plane!  Those propellers sliced through the clouds and took us home safely in the end.  Nevertheless, I'm glad not to have any travel plans for a while.  I remember someone once told me that between 8 months and 18 months is the hardest time to travel with a kid..... they were NOT WRONG!

  1. Welcome back :)
Yeah, I 'd be afraid of travelling with a toddler!!
But it's so nice that you took her with you! I feel there are many patents who go on a vacation and leave the child with grandparents. To get a break or so. Which I can also understand, but it's still so nice that you went all together.
    :)

  2. She's not quite old enough to stay with grandparents yet! But yeah, I can definitely see why people do that... but I would miss her if she wasn't with us! Lol. :D
